Moya De Feyter (1993) writes poetry, prose, and plays. She studied Literature and Theatre Studies and made her debut as a poet in 2018 with Tot iemand eindelijk (Uitgeverij Vrijdag). A year later she published Massastrandingen (Uitgeverij Vrijdag), a collection addressing the climatic destruction of our living environment. The book was awarded the J.C. Bloem Poetry Prize. Her most recent book, Een heel dun laagje (Uitgeverij Vrijdag, 2022), moves between prose, poetry, and non-fiction. Drawing on science, mythology, and her own memories, Moya explores light in all its forms in this work. She also frequently performs on stage and occasionally creates video poems. In addition, she is the founder of Klimaatdichters, a Flemish-Dutch poets’ collective advocating for our threatened planet. Between writing and performing, Moya teaches part-time to young people with a migrant background and gives creative writing courses for adults.
